To empower people and organizations that do good things is also a source of energy for yourself, in this case me. By looking at what ideas, what processes, what set up that is successful pushes me to reflect on our project and try to improve our performance too.

One Food Waste Fighter to highlight is Karma (Karma.life), who connects restaurants with consumers through their app. The goal is to help restaurants sell their leftover meals at a discount to consumers geographically close to the restaurant. Buy a lunch from the local restaurant at X% discount on your way home from work, for example.
“A great win-win for both parties. Not to mention a win for the environment.”

The second Food Waste Fighter I would like to empower is Generation Waste (generationwaste.com). Their tagline ‘Zero Waste – a vision for the future’ says it all. The Gothenburg (Sweden) based company develop and market smart tools that support Pro kitchens to reduce their food waste through a structured and functional process. One of the keys here is that it is profitable to be environmentally conscious and track your food waste. By following their process, you not only save food waste but you also improve your bottom line financially. Who can say no to such an offer!?

My third and last Food Waste Fighter I would like to highlight is the app; Too Good To Go (toogoodtogo.com). The company that was founded in Copenhagen (Denmark) is now present across several countries. Their focus is on offering leftover meals but maybe the most thrilling offer is the ‘Too Good To Go Surprise bag’. A bag that you can order through the app at a fixed price, and once you collect it, it will be a surprise what it contains. Who doesn’t like a surprise from one of your favorite food stores or your ditto restaurants?
Do you have ideas on who we should empower?
Who is your number one Food Waste Fighter?
